2025 Banana Festival Photo Contest

September 13-20, 2025

Displaying of 8x10 photo entries will be done by the Committee

Rules:

  1. Photos must be taken within the last twelve-month period prior to the Banana Festival Photography Contest. No photos taken after September 14, 2024 will be accepted. Contest is open to all photographers. Cell phone photography is allowed. DSLR camera is preferred for learning purposes.

  2. Entries must be submitted in either color or black & white 8”x10” print. NO printing of watermarks or titles allowed on front or back of photos.

  3. Enter as many photos as you’d like. This is a digital photo contest! All entries must include the original digital image on a jump drive indicating the date photo was taken. Archival/Banana Festival promotional use only.

  4. Entries must be picked up on Sunday. (The jump drive with the original digital image will become property of the Banana Festival for archival use only. Any other use that would be subject to monetary gains would go to the photographer and must have said photographer’s permission for any publication leading to any said gains other than to promoting the Twin Cities Banana Festival.)

Sunday, September 14, 2025 from 1:00pm-6pm
Monday, September 15, 2025 from 9:00am-7pm
Tuesday, September 16, 2025 from 9:00am-12pm

Public Viewing:

Wednesday, September 17, 2025 - Friday, September 20, 2025 from 11:00am-5:00pm

Judging Begins:

Photos will be judged late Tuesday afternoon

Winners Announced:

Wednesday, September 17, 2024 at 6:00pm, Faith and Family Main Stage
”People’s Choice” and “Committee’s Choice” Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 6:30pm, Main Stage

Pick Up:

Saturday, September 20, 2025 after 3:00pm
Sunday, September 21, 2025 from 1:00pm-5:00pm


AWARDS

First, Second and Third Place Ribbons in Adult and Youth Categories

“Best of Show” Ribbon - $100 (Selected by judges)

“People’s Choice Champion” - $150 (Voted via Facebook)

“Banana Festival Committee’s Choice” - $75 (Selected by committee)

** People’s Choice Award: All photos will be uploaded to Facebook for People’s Choice Award. Everyone is invited to vote using Facebook. The entry with the most likes will win $150 cash! So share, share, share! Please follow our Facebook page for updates and instructions on how to vote. All other categories will be judged accordingly.

** Banana Festival Committee’s Choice Award: This photo does not have to the Best of Show, People’s Choice or even a ribbon winner. It will be soley selected by the committee, professionally framed and hung on display in Fulton.
